While our number one priority at Smiles By Dr. Santos is your oral health, your comfort is also a top priority. We understand that not everyone is super keen on going to the denist, which is why we’ve done our best to make it as comfortable and pain free as possible. With The Anesthesia Wand
Everyone has various tolerances for discomfort and that’s why we’re offering the anesthesia wand to our patients. Typically, anesthesia used in dental practice, has been administered through a syringe, which is not ideal. Throughout the years it’s been found that injecting anesthesia with a syringe doesn’t allow the area to have a concentrated amount of anesthetic. The anesthesia wand is different from traditional methods.
The anesthesia wand allows dentists to spray a consistent stream of anesthetic, which allows the free nerve endings in your gums to be constantly numb. Using computer controls, the anesthesia wand can be programmed to dispense the right dose in a slow and controlled flow rate. Anesthesia flows into the tooth with ease, allowing you to experience consistent comfort and numbness. We are also able to control or adjust the injection pressure for various tissues or areas of the mouth. This lets every part of your tooth and gums be numb and pain free during any type of dental procedure. The consistent flow of anesthesia is what is important to maintaining your comfort, since many times the culprit with most injection anxiety is the result of the anesthetic being injected too quickly or forcefully.
At Smiles By Dr. Santos we understand that all of our patients are unique and may require different treatment.
